Our Take
A large-scale LEGO recreation of NASA's Space Shuttle Discovery, complete with the Hubble Space Telescope. Originally submitted through the LEGO Ideas platform, it's aimed at adult builders and space enthusiasts rather than younger children. It sits firmly in LEGO's premium adult range, competing with similarly complex sets like the Saturn V and International Space Station.
Key Features
2,354 pieces across the shuttle orbiter, external tank, and solid rocket boosters
Hubble Space Telescope included as a separate, deployable model
Opening payload bay doors reveal the Hubble, mimicking the real STS-31 mission
Moveable elevons, rudder, and retractable landing gear add functional detail
Cockpit opens to reveal a printed instrument panel with seating for two minifigures
Comes with two astronaut minifigures in period-accurate spacesuits
Our Verdict
Ideal for adult LEGO fans or space history enthusiasts wanting a substantial, display-worthy build with genuine educational interest. If you're after something interactive for younger children, or simply can't justify the price, the smaller LEGO City shuttle sets offer a more accessible alternative.
