An officially licensed LEGO Technic recreation of NASA's real Perseverance Mars rover, built in collaboration with NASA and ESA. Aimed at teenagers and adults with an interest in space exploration or engineering, it sits at the premium end of the Technic range, offering genuine educational content alongside a substantial building challenge.
Key Features
1,132 pieces building a detailed scale model of the actual Perseverance rover
Articulated six-wheel rocker-bogie suspension system that moves independently over uneven surfaces
Poseable robotic arm with multiple joints, mirroring the real rover's functionality
Includes a small brick-built Ingenuity helicopter companion model
Augmented reality feature via the free LEGO Builder app provides additional NASA mission context
Recommended age range of 10 and above, though the complexity skews older
Our Verdict
Ideal for space enthusiasts, budding engineers, or LEGO collectors wanting a meaningful display model with real-world context. Those after motorised functions or better value-per-piece should look elsewhere, but anyone drawn to the Perseverance mission specifically will find this a rewarding and educational build.
