Our Take
A freestanding double-sided art easel from Melissa & Doug aimed at children roughly aged three and upwards. One side holds a chalkboard, the other a dry-erase whiteboard, with a central paper roll holder in between. It sits at the mid-to-upper end of children's home easels, competing with similar wooden designs from IKEA and Step2.
Key Features
Double-sided design: one chalkboard surface and one dry-erase whiteboard surface
Built-in paper roll holder accommodates a standard 45cm art paper roll (roll not always included depending on retailer)
Adjustable height clips on both sides hold paper sheets securely in place
Wooden construction with a natural pine finish and a sturdy A-frame base
Integrated storage tray on each side for chalk, markers, or brushes
Folds flat for relatively straightforward storage when not in use
Our Verdict
A well-made, versatile easel that suits families who want a long-lasting creative station for young children and have the floor space to accommodate it. Those after something more compact, or who baulk at potentially buying consumables separately, would be better served by a simpler tabletop alternative.
