Marvel's Wolverine PS5 limited editions open for pre-order

Sony's Battle Yellow and Adamantium accessories are already selling out — here's everything UK buyers need to know before 15 September.

What you need to know

  • Pre-orders went live in the UK on 19 August 2026; six products in total, launching 15 September 2026
  • PS5 Slim Digital Edition bundle is priced at £569.99; DualSense controllers at £74.99 each; console covers at £64.99 each
  • Console covers and Adamantium DualSense are exclusive to PlayStation Direct — PS5 Pro cover sets already sold out

Pre-orders for Sony's Marvel's Wolverine limited edition PS5 hardware went live in the UK on Wednesday 19 August 2026, and stock of the most sought-after items is already running critically short. The full range — six products in total, spanning a console bundle, two DualSense controllers and three sets of console covers — is due to launch on 15 September 2026, the same day Marvel's Wolverine arrives exclusively on PS5.

What's in the range and what does it cost?

Sony announced the lineup on 11 August 2026 via the official PlayStation Blog, describing the accessories as "battle-ready." The six confirmed products, with UK prices, are as follows:

  • PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel's Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle – £569.99
  • DualSense Wireless Controller – Marvel's Wolverine Battle Yellow – £74.99
  • DualSense Wireless Controller – Marvel's Wolverine Adamantium – £74.99
  • PS5 Console Covers – Battle Yellow (PS5 Slim) – £64.99
  • PS5 Pro Console Covers – Battle Yellow – £64.99
  • PS5 Pro Console Covers – Marvel's Wolverine Adamantium – £64.99

The game itself is priced at £69.99 and is a PS5 exclusive.

What do the designs look like?

The headline bundle pairs an 825GB PS5 Slim Digital Edition with yellow and black side panels featuring Wolverine artwork and claw marks across the casing. The console covers for the Slim model carry the same treatment, with what Sony describes as "brutal see-through claw marks that allow you to peek under the hood of your PS5."

The Adamantium colourway takes a different approach: a metallic silver and black finish, according to Sony, "inspired by the adamantium bonded to Logan's skeleton and claws." That finish is available on the PS5 Pro console covers and the second DualSense controller.

The hardware artwork was created by Scottish comic book artist Mark Simpson — better known by his pen name Jock — who also contributed to the game's key art. In a statement, Jock said: "I wanted to show Wolverine at his fiercest for the Marvel's Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 Console bundle and accessories."

Where can you buy it in the UK?

This is where things get complicated. Not everything is available everywhere. The Battle Yellow PS5 bundle and the Battle Yellow DualSense are the most widely stocked items: pre-orders opened at PS Direct, Currys and Smyths Toys, with Amazon UK, Very, EE, Argos, ShopTo and The Game Collection also listed for the Battle Yellow DualSense, subject to availability.

However, both DualSense controllers and all three sets of console covers are exclusive to PlayStation Direct. If PS Direct sells out, there is nowhere else to turn. Pre-orders opened at 10:00am local time on 19 August; the PS5 Pro Battle Yellow console covers sold out in under 30 minutes. The Adamantium PS5 Pro covers — also a PS Direct exclusive — went quickly too. PlayStation Direct is offering free launch-day delivery on eligible pre-orders placed directly through its store.

Who can actually use the console covers?

An important detail for existing PS5 owners: the Wolverine edition console covers are only compatible with the PS5 Slim (CFI-2000 and CFI-2100 model groups) and PS5 Pro. Owners of the original launch-model PS5 cannot use them. Separately sold covers are compatible with both disc drive and digital PS5 Slim consoles, so Slim owners do not need to buy the full bundle to update the look of their machine.

Worth noting too: the £569.99 bundle is only available as a PS5 Digital Edition. Sony has confirmed there are no plans for a Disc Edition or PS5 Pro bundle — a point that has attracted some criticism from fans who recall that the equivalent Marvel's Spider-Man 2 limited edition included a disc-drive variant.

How does this compare to previous Sony limited editions?

The Wolverine range follows a format Sony used to considerable effect with Marvel's Spider-Man 2: a themed console, matching DualSense, and separately sold covers. That earlier range sold out completely and is no longer available at retail anywhere, which gives some indication of the likely trajectory for the Wolverine hardware. Sony has confirmed the Wolverine accessories will be available in limited quantities, though it has not disclosed specific unit numbers.

The scalper problem is already here

According to Notebookcheck, Battle Yellow and Adamantium DualSense controllers were already appearing on eBay above the £74.99 RRP within days of pre-orders opening — before the hardware has even shipped. Given that all console covers are exclusive to PS Direct and stock is visibly thinning, pre-ordering at standard retail prices remains the only reliable way to guarantee paying face value.

The full Marvel's Wolverine limited edition hardware range is due to launch on 15 September 2026, alongside the game.

Why it matters

UK buyers face a narrower window than they might expect: the PS5 Pro console covers sold out within half an hour of pre-orders opening, and scalpers are already listing DualSense controllers well above the £74.99 RRP on eBay. Because the console covers are exclusive to PlayStation Direct, there is no retail fallback if Sony's own stock dries up. Anyone hoping to dress up an existing PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro for launch day should act now — and owners of the original launch-model PS5 should note that none of the covers are compatible with their console at all.
